What is KSBCDC?
The Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corpopration (KSBCDC) is a Government owned Private Limited Company registered under the Companies Act 1956.

Why KSBCDC ?
KSBCDC was established in 1995 as a company under the Companies Act 1956 (1 of 1956) on 28/02/1995 with the Registered Office at Thiruvananthapuram , with the objective of making social and economical developments of the people belonging to the backward classes.

1. Disbursing Loans to the future entrepreneurs in collaboration with the State Government, National Financing Agencies -National Minorities Development Finance Corporation (MMDFC), National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC).
2. Promoting the Beneficiaries Product and/or Services
3. The family income of the beneficiary must not exceed the double poverty line.
4. Cultural development of the Backward Classes
5. Extending other financial assistance to the Backward Classes and Minorities of the State.

A. Small business and service sectors.
B. Agricultural & allied sectors.
C. Artisian & Handicrafts.

  Who can apply for a Self Employment Loan?
Any Indian citizen fulfilling the following criteria is eligible

1. The beneficiary must be a permanent resident of Kerala State
2. He / She must be one of the notified Backward Classes or Minority Communities in the case of self -employment loan)
3. The family income of the beneficiary must not exceed the double poverty line i.e. Rs. 39,500/- in rural areas and Rs.54,500/- in Urban areas.
4. He / she should have adequate experience, training / aptitude in that activity
5. He / She is not a defaulter in respect of loan taken from any Bank / Financial Institution for similar purpose
6. He/She is not a beneficiary of Govt. of India Self-employment Schemes or other Developmental Agencies like Women Development Corporation etc.
7.  Age should be between 18 and 50 years

How to apply?

The application shall be submitted in the prescribed form (costing Rs.10/- ) to the respective District Manager during the business (10 AM to 3 PM) on any working day.

What are the schemes available?

What is the rate of interest?

Rates of interest are different for different schemes. Normally it varies between from 3% to 8.5%. Please confirm the rate from Schemes page.. Please confirm the rate from Schemes page.

What is the Repayment period of the loan ?

Repayment periods are normally 3 years to 5 years - Maximum 60 installments. However it may vary with schemes or time. Please confirm the period from Schemes.

Is there any benefit if the beneficiary repay the loan in advance?
Yes. The beneficiary can save interest.

At what circumstances KSBCDC will not need repayment of the Loan?
At no circumstances KSBCDC will exempt the loan. In case failure to repay loan, KSBCDC will take the legal actions to recover it.

What is maximum project cost that KSBCDC allows?
Maximum Rs. 5 lakh to an individual (see Schemes for more details).

What are the projects that KSBCDC will finance?
Any viable scheme proposed by the beneficiary. See Sample Projects financed by KSBCDC

What is the procedure to apply for self employment loans above Rs.50,000/-, but below Rs.1,00,000/-
The application shall be submitted in the prescribed form to the respective district manager with the project report. The project report should be in the   prescribed format.

What is the procedure to apply for self employment loan above R.s1,00,000/- but below Rs. 5,00,000/-.
The application shall be submitted in the prescribed form to the respective district manager with a project report in the format available with the district managers.
